One of our big yearly events at Three Dads and a Console is the work we do with Dana Farber Cancer Institute via Jimmy Fund Quest 2 Defy Cancer, where streamers and content creators raise money through streaming. This year, the Three Dads and a Console team, comprised of Co-Captains Pezellx56 and WabbaPlays, as well as members xRideorDie, Hike_Shadow, and EndlessDayz, smashed their goal of $3,000, ending with a total of $3,855! The goal for the fundraiser was $10,000 for all creators, and this was exceeded as well, with a final tally of $12,257.
In addition to raising money, Three Dads and a Console partnered with our friends at Outright Games to benefit the patients directly. When attending treatment or staying overnight at the hospitals, kids have access to consoles and mobile game stations. Outright committed to donating games for every $250 raised, up to $1000, and we met that goal and provided the codes to the Jimmy Fund to load on the consoles at the hospital. We are thankful that our partners were willing to collaborate with organizations and initiatives that we believe in, and it ultimately benefits patients and hopefully brings a sense of comfort during their stay.
Dana Farber wrote a blog post about this collaboration, as well as the Quest 2 Defy Cancer initiative. To learn more, or if you are interested in getting involved, see the full post at: https://blog.jimmyfund.org/2023/10/gaming-for-good-with-three-dads-and-a-console/
